The MRI physics group provides a range of scientific and technical services to support the safe use of MRI. These services include providing expert advice around MRI procurement and site planning, advising on scanner quality assurance and also providing safety advice on scanning patients and volunteers with implants.
In addition to these core NHS services, the MRI physics team also provide range of R&D services. This includes advising on ethics for imaging studies, grant applications, study design, image protocol optimization, governance, troubleshooting, image informatics, image analysis and publication writing.
The MRI physics team also provide a range of advanced quantitative imaging techniques for clinical purposes and provide teaching, training and supervision on MRI physics and MRI safety matters.
