MOSAES (MR Off-label Scanning Adverse Events and Successes) is a resource that aims to inform the complication rate in scanning patients with implants in MRI in off-label circumstances by recording scanning successes as well as adverse events. The hope is this improves the quality of information made available to both healthcare professionals and, indirectly, to patients in regard to the risks of undergoing an MR scan with a particular implant. No patient identifiable information should be included. Anonymised data will be shared on request with approved persons. Personal data may be made available to approved persons on request if they require further information. Anonymised summary data will be presented annually. Please see the terms of reference and disclaimer for more information.

Disclaimer

This is a resource for healthcare professionals to record off-label MRI scanning successes and adverse events. We would also strongly recommend adverse events are reported to the MHRA (or devolved equivalents e.g. IRIC in Scotland). If you are a patient wishing to report an adverse event, please report this to the MHRA via the Yellow Card scheme.

A summary of mandatory and optional fields in MOSAES can be found here for individual and multiple patient events. Individual events or historical bulk events (e.g. where you perform an established service of MR scanning in off-label circumstances and have an established process, procedure and governance around this) can be logged.
