Turas e-learning modules:
The NHS GGC MRI Physics group have developed e-learning MRI safety modules for various staff groups. The current modules are listed below and include links to the corresponding Turas modules. If not yet logged in to Turas you will be prompted to log in before you can reach the modules.

  • MHRA Category A staff (Staff that are required to operate the MRI equipment such as Radiographers and Clinical Scientists)
  • MHRA Category B staff (Staff that are present with a volunteer or patient during scanning and are required to enter the MR Environment(s) such as Healthcare Support Workers, Radiologists, Anaesthetists and Nurses)
  • MHRA Category C staff (Staff that are required to enter the MR Environment(s) under supervision and only when scanning is not taking place such as domestics and estate maintenance staff)
  • MHRA Category D staff (Staff that are required to enter the MRI Controlled Access Area but not the MR Environment(s) such as administrative staff)
  • MRI referrers

All NHS staff in Scotland should have access to a Turas account. If you are unsure whether you have a Turas account, please discuss with your line manager or send an email to learning@nes.scot.nhs.uk with the name and NHS email address of those requiring access.
