Patients with Eye Lens Implant (NHSL)

This policy does not apply to patients with ocular or maxillofacial implants other than lens implants. In particular, this policy does not apply to patients with retinal tacks. Furthermore, this policy does not cover contact lenses, note that coloured contact lenses must be removed prior to MRI.

NHSL Policy: The NHSL Policy will be as per GGC Policy, which states:

“Patients with lens implants can be safely scanned using 1.5T and 3T MRI”.
